Payment terms and conditions
Using the online payments facility on the BHCC website (adulteducation.brighton-hove.gov.uk) indicates that you accept these terms. Do not use this facility if you do not accept these terms.
Your payment will take a minimum of three working days to reach the account to which you are making a payment (this includes time to verify your credit/debit card details with your card supplier and for payment to be notified to BHCC).
We cannot accept liability for a payment not reaching the intended account due to a customer quoting an incorrect account number.
- we cannot accept liability if payment is refused or declined by the card supplier (due to the customer quoting incorrect card details or other reasons)
- if the card supplier declines payment, BHCC is under no obligation to bring this fact to the customer’s attention. Customers should check with their bank or card supplier that payment has been deducted from their account
Confirmation of payment
You will receive a confirmation of your payment by email as well as an on-screen confirmation after you make the payment.
Refund policy for online payments
Please note this section is in line with distance selling regulations and does not apply when a payment is made over the telephone or in person. This section only applies to enrolments in which the payment was made on our website.
Students have the right to cancel their enrolment within fourteen working days of receiving confirmation, in which case a full refund will be made. If the course starts within that fourteen-day period, the right to cancel applies up to the day the course starts. Refunds can also be issued outside the fourteen-day period if a written request is received more than four weeks before the start of the course. An administrative charge of £15 will be deducted from the refund.
After that time, only requests for refunds as a result of your ill health will be considered. This must be supported by a certificate from your doctor and an administrative charge of £15 will be deducted from the refund.
These refunds will be calculated from the date your request is received by the Finance Team. Cancellation and refund requests must be made by email to AEH@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
